Praise the God of Heaven and Earth the Iraqi Dinar has finally increased in value!

Multiply the number of Dinar you have by $____________ and that will equal the number of dollars your Iraqi dinars are now worth. To exchange your currency: If you already have an account at one of the big banks: Chase, Bank of America, Citibank, PNC, or Wells Fargo, you’re in great shape. Call your branch and ask them: 1). If they exchange foreign currency at the branch you are calling. If they say yes they do, ask them if they are currently exchanging the Iraqi Dinar. 2). If the branch you are calling says they do not exchange foreign currency, ask them for the branch that is closest to your home or business that does exchange foreign currency.  Never ever let your currency out of your hand before your at a bank counter that exchanges foreign currency.  3). What their procedure is to exchange your dinar into US dollars. (If they ask how much you will be bringing in, it’s perfectly OK to tell them.) 4). If they will be willing to authenticate your dinar bills right there in front of you while you’re at the counter. 5). If you need an appointment to come in with your dinar. 6). tell them you want to exchange the dinar for US dollars and deposit those dollars directly into your account and receive a deposit receipt on the spot. 7). If you’ll have immediate access to all your funds once the deposit is made. If they say no not to the full amount, ask them how much is available immediately and when will the balance be available. 8). If they say, “No, not the full amount”, ask how much the bank will hold back and when will you have access to ALL your funds. Confirm with them that even if the bank does not immediately credit your account for the full amount that the receipt you will leave the bank with will reflect the full deposit amount. NOTE: In item number three above I mentioned the word authenticate. What does authenticate mean and why is it crucial you exchange the dinar at a branch that will authenticate the dinar at that branch? After Iraq invaded Kuwait back in 1990 the United Nations put Iraq in Chapter 7 bankruptcy until they paid Kuwait back $60 billion worth of damage they had caused. Iraq then reissued all their currency by removing Saddam Hussein’s face from all their notes. Now, after many years, these new Iraqi dinar notes, the ones that you are holding, can be exchanged. The notes you have are as new to you as they are to the major banks’ cashiers. So, depending on the level of training the teller you’ll be dealing with has, the bank may want to authenticate these new bills that they’ve never seen before they credit your account. That’s OK, if you were the bank manager you would do the same thing. To authenticate, the bank may use a currency book and or a black light machine. NOTE: A small local bank or credit union will likely NOT exchange foreign currency. If you were to leave your currency with them, all they would do is transfer it to one of the big banks for authentication and wait for the big bank to return your currency to them. In the meantime, your currency is out of your hands, and you have no receipt, and no recourse should something “go wrong”, or turn up missing.

                          Do not do this!

If you bank at a small local bank or credit union that does not exchange foreign currency, I recommend the following. Since this Iraqi dinar revaluation is a once in a lifetime event, In this instance, in my view, the safest way to exchange, since you don’t want your currency leaving your hands without a receipt, would be to go to one of the big bank locations after you confirm they exchange Iraqi dinar, and open up a checking or savings account for $50 or $100. and if you want all your money back in your small bank or credit union, a week or so after you have exchanged your dinar at the big bank and have a deposit receipt into your new checking or savings account, if you want to, then just wire the funds back to your small bank or credit union. BUT AGIN, DO NOT LEAVE THAT BANK WITHOUT YOUR DEPOSIT RECEIPT IN HAND!!! If I can help in any way let me know. Thank you jesus!!
